Did you know that February is National Wedding Month? With Valentine’s day on the 14th, the month is full of love - and we love that! Beyond that, according to the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), February is the time of year filled with the most bridal shows! This is likely because many people are preparing for their summer weddings.
Before February is over, we want to share some fun wedding facts in order to celebrate National Wedding Month with all of you who are planning your special day, or those of you who just love weddings like we do!
Engagement rings
For 2021 it is expected that many couples will ditch the classic look of engagement rings and instead go for a bit more color. Taking “something blue,” quite literally, sapphires are incredibly versatile and making a splash in the engagement ring industry.
Fact: On average, most couples spent around $3,756 on an engagement ring in 2020.
Popular wedding dates
Many people are searching for unique dates for them to get married on. Many use an anniversary or a date that is special to them. If you aren’t so sentimental, you can just pick one that falls around the right time! Either way, your wedding date is something you will celebrate for the rest of your life, so be sure to pick a date that you like!
Fact: 75 percent of all weddings take place between May to October. The most popular wedding months are September, June and October.
Wedding guests
With COVID-19 still putting a damper on weddings and celebrations in general, many people are lowering the number of guests invited to their ceremony and reception. If you are someone who has a large family or wants a large celebration, you may have to find some unique and safe ways to celebrate with everyone.
Be sure that you are inviting those who are most important to you and don’t get caught up in inviting every single person you know. The day is supposed to be about you, your partner and your close family and friends.
Fact: The average number of wedding guests in the United States is 120 people.
Location
Many people choose to get married in their hometown or where they currently live in order to be sure that all of their friends and family are able to attend and celebrate with them, but some people choose to plan a destination wedding! There is a lot that comes with planning a wedding out of town and you will likely have to begin planning just a bit sooner. Be sure that you are doing all of your research and are making a guide for your guests to know where to stay, when to fly in, and all they need to know before traveling.
Fact: Las Vegas has been coined the marriage capital of the world and around 120,000 weddings are performed there every year.
